  • The geographical units of medieval times in Wales are difficult to define in modern terms, as territories shifted from one petty kingdom to another with family marriages, inheritance and disputes. This site creates links to the territories which were "exchanged" as the cantrefi and cymydau were largely geographically unchanged. For example, whilst Anglesey was "independent" from time to time but mostly included in Gwynedd its cantrefi and cymydau did not change.
  • From the map of cantrefi and cymydau from Wikipedia, the maps of the Petty Kingdoms have been copied
  • In creating this page with its links it is hoped that those involved with medieval Welsh aspects will better find where the profiles were based.
