Goal

The goal of this Team is to make all County profiles the best that they can be. It is our desire to leave a lasting legacy of work for future generations by sourcing, connecting and growing our County branches of the tree.

Tasks

The following links are to profiles which need attention and have a connection to Cardiganshire. Connections typically can be Birth Place, Death Place or Marriage Location.

Resources

Additional Lists

see Commemorative Plaques in Wales for those who have been recognised for their achievements

This is a link to the Wales Maintenance Categories which can be used to help find profiles that need some work.

Please add these to profiles if required so we can work on improving them.

If it was likely that the person was in Cardiganshire at some point in their life use that category rather than just Wales.

Notables

Please use this search

If you wish to improve the Notables then you can use the Bio Check app to highlight those that may require some attention.

My current project (which will take me a few months yet) is to add as much information and references to my free-page at Thomas Families of Llancynfelyn.

Once completed, I intend sorting them into families and adding everyone on WT who is not already listed. An already completed project included listing all the Thomas families living at Gogerddan Cottages, Aberystwyth. Thomas Family at Gogerddan Cottages, Aberystwyth, Wales.

This is a small scale One Place Study and when you are ready you should add a link to your page on the county page here.

Not sure where to add this, Hilary. Do you mean I should add it under 'Resources', another of the headings, or to create a new 'One Place Study' heading?
posted by Richard Underwood
Yes you could add under resources

Hi, only just seen this. Fantastic. How do you do it, please.

We should have one for each county. (Flintshire first, obvs)

No worries, here they are:

The profiles are generated through Wikidata’s SPARQL interface which is a way to extract data from that database. (The code can be seen by clicking on "Edit SPARQL" on the right-hand menu.)

Which profiles turn up depend on what’s been added to Wikidata: if the birthplace is missing there, it won’t show up in these searches. Also, some entries are duplicated (usually when Wikidata has several potential birth/death dates added). "January 1" usually means that only the year has been added to the birth or death date.

If you want to add links to Notable profiles for the county on this page do so. I can ask the county leaders to do something for the other counties and I will do it for those without a leader.
