After more than 20 years of genealogy research done by my mother Alberta Persilver Persilver-1 and many of her cousins, we still have no definite source defining the families of her great-grandparents.

George William Boyce-4068 [Boice on death certificate] Boyce spelled by family and on census, born April 1847 Belmont, Tishomingo County, Mississippi. His birth year calculated from 1880 census would be 1844; from his death certificate in 1914 at age 66, his birth year would be 1848.

Married 1870 Mary Conners? O'Connor? Conner? based on census years married given by them.

Mary O'Connor-6271 reported her birthday as Jul 1850 in Tennessee. Belmont, Tishomingo County, Mississippi is on the border of Tennessee, so the location is plausible for them to have met.

George and Mary show up in the 1880 census, living in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana 4th Ward:

George W. Boice information on death certificate was given by Elizabeth Gibson, his daughter, as follows:

I've created profiles for their children - Millie, Lizzie, Charley and Therese. I'm still trying to locate who living child number five - Mary reported having five living children out of nine births.

There's a family story about George possibly being married before Mary, and some rumor about a possible murder. I'm still combing through boxes trying to find correspondence that might shed light on these possibilities.
