The townland of Ardvally prior to the re-organisation in 1898 was in County Sligo. In 1898, as a part of the electoral division of Ardnaree North it was moved into Mayo. Details of the Changes to County boundaries in Ireland. On transfer Ardvally, Mayo remained in the Castleconor RC parish but the other townlands now in Mayo have been transferred to Kilmoremoy RC Parish.
