A exploration of the William-Henry (Sorel) parish records for any mentions of the Chebois / Cheboit or Pot-au-Beurre locations in an attempt to correlate residents with census records and hopefully determine the modern location.

UPDATE:

It seems the river running through Saint-Hugues (where John's family appeared on the 1861 census) and Saint-Helene appears on old maps variously as Shibouet(te) and Chibouet(te) (and at least one instance of Sciboet). I can easily see how this could be phonetically interpreted as "Chebois" or "Cheboit" by John Jackson, the William-Henry rector.
