- 1715. Timothy Dunton, son of John Dunton and Sarah (Jeffords) Dunton, b. 20 Aug 1715 in Sudbury, Massachusetts[1][2]
- 1740. The name "Dunton" and a house were put on a lot 29, at the N.W. corner of "Wadley's bay", now Brookings Bay, in the Nequasset settlement (now Woolwich, ME) by the surveyor in May 1740[2]
- 1749. Timothy Dunton was among 43 inhabitants of Wiscasset who signed a petition dated March 2, 1749 to the government of the Province of Massachusetts Bay requesting that their settlement be incorporated as a town to be named Whitehaven.[3][2]
- 1752. Timothy Dunton was among hundreds of inhabitants of both sides of the Kennebec River who signed a petition to the government of the Province of Massachusetts Bay requesting that their area be made into a separate county[4]
- 1754. Timothy Dunton was among 37 inhabitants of Wiscasset and Mounsweg who signed a petition requesting that their area be incorporated as a town or district[5][2]
- 1761. Ruth Dunton, daughter of Timothy and Elizabeth Dunton, b. 17 Sept 1761 in Edgecomb, Lincoln, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[6][7]
- 1766. Timothy Dunton and his two sons, Joseph and Samuel Dunton, were among the inhabitants of the plantation called Freetown in Lincoln County who petitioned the government of the Province of Massachusetts Bay on March 9, 1766 for the establishment of a court on the eastern side of the town of Pownalborough since the courts in Frankfort were too distant.[8]
- 1800. Timothy Dunton was among the inhabitants of Boothbay who petitioned the town selectmen to bee free from paying the minister's rates because they had joined the Society of Fre Will Baptists and desired to pay their rate to the society instead.[9] (This record very probably relates to Timonthy's son, Timothy Dunton Jr.)
