The cemetery is located in the Haut-de-Seine comune of Sceaux, 10 kilometers south of Paris. It is easily reachable by public transport- the RER B terminus Gare de Robinson being a 5 minute walk away. Access is available via Rue Houdan and Rue des Clos-Saint-Marcel.
First opened in 1814, the Sceaux Cemetery has undergone three enlargements- currently comprising a surface of approximately 12,000 m².
