The late Eva Coe Peden transcribed the minutes of this church likely in the 1960's and had not completed them at the time of her untimely death. It appears that Clerk Fork was in existance prior to the beginning of these minutes in 1802. It was also known as Stockton Valley#2 and at various times was a member of the Green River, Stockton Valley & Russel Creek Association. Isaac DENTON was pastor here at one time. This church is in Clinton Co but was formerly in Cumberland Co thus will contain many Cumberland Co names. Names will be shown as spelled and the clerk wasn't the greatest speller!
