A coat of arms for John Endicott?

The Wikipedia entry for Gov John (Endicott) Endecott (abt.1588-1665) includes a coat of arms based on Crozier's General Armory : A Registry of American Families Entitled to Coat Armor.[1] Unfortunately, Crozier is not considered a reliable source for identifying heraldry. Since John Endicott's parentage is unknown, it doesn't seem possible to claim any sort of crest or coat of arms. If there is evidence of Governor Endicott using a coat of arms during his lifetime, that should be noted. As of now, however, this does not seem to be a legitimate coat of arms.

His yDNA has proven he's related to the Endecotts from Chagford Devon. He's never had a proven COA. Someone just created one and posted it without doing any research. The JEFA has done research on any Endecott COA and we couldn't find any official ones.

Thanks, Michelle. The Crozier book is very misleading, and does make it sound like this was John Endecott's COA. Hopefully, keeping the image here on a space page will give it a home, away from the profiles so as not to be attached again.
