At about 1430-1450, genealogical info for Guy de Comeau II, Sieur de Chassenay, Seigneur de Créancy splits off and is often confused for a Guy II de Barbançon, Guy d’Argenteaux, and Guy de la Lande, with at least 3 separate wives. Can anyone tell why?

Who were the other 3 Guys, if not Guy II de a Comeau?

Who is the first Comeau settler in the New World, Pierre Comeau, a cooper/barrel-maker (1606 or 1597-1690) descended from?

Was Guy de Comeau REALLY married to Marie de Medici?

Was another de Comeau REALLY married to Claude de Guise, Duc de Lorraine’s daughter Jeanne de Gissey/de Guise?

Did the Comeaus get their first coat-of-arms in 1000 AD? Does the gold anchor hold any historical significance? Does the silver dolphin (heraldic pun Dauphin of France) show any connection to an a Heir Apparent to the zfrench Throne at one time?

My first known Comeau settler was Simon Comeau, b. about 1600 in Anjou, France, d. 15 Jan 1662, in Port Royal. Married Louise Thirion, (b. about 1605 in La Chausee, d. 30 Jan 1650, in Rognon), before 1629. One known daughter, Marie Rosalie Comeau (b. 12 Feb 1629 in Avize, d. about 1651 in Port Royal). Rosalie married Michel Kuessey (Caissy, Quessey, etc.) Mar 1648. Michel Kuessey was the beginning of what became the Roger family in Louisiana. I’ve got some scattered info on some of the other questions. I’ll update when I sort through it.
