Horace C Comings - not on Wikitree as of 6/11/21; can't find a thing to connect him to existing family, and he can't be found in Isaac genealogy. One of his ancestors is Cummings-690 / Comings-369 (Gershon/Gershom). Partially sourced profile here. Familysearch sources here. FS profile gives dates of life 9 Dec 1828 - 2 Aug 1917. Wife: Hannah Jane Gould (1833-1896). Parents: John Cummings (1799-1857), Mary Ayres (1790-1857). Father of John: Gershom (1740-1825) and Rhoda Newton (1765-1809). Gershom's father is listed as John Comins (1732-1782), major age discrepancy there, and Rachel Snow (1728-1813), ditto; marriage 19 Nov 1752. Ancestry profile gives Gershom's years of life as 1760-1824. Source for birth year is American Genealogical-Biographical Index (AGBI).
"Wm S Comings" born 1869, Tennessee, 1920 Census living in Fowler, Fresno, CA. No profile as of 12/12/21.
Gershom is descended from "Woburn John" (Cummings-285). Woburn John had a son John born in 1696 (Cummings-5029) (Isaac, page 563 / 627). John had a son John (1732-1782). This last John was Gershom's father.
6/17/21 Commented on Cummings-5029 re research about him and his father ("Woburn John") having both married women named Mary Lee. Apparently this is so.
Comings-218 has children that need to be sourced and added.
Comings-110 is the guy who proudly retained the Comings spelling (footnoted on Isaac page 507). Need some further research and sourcing on this guy.
A boatload of Comings I never heard of at this search result for the 1910 census
Another boatload of Comings I don't know at this search result found when trying to document the siblings of "Sherman the Train."
And who the heck are all THESE people?? [3]
