This page is part of a project to further organize the National Archive's recently digitized Confederate Slave Payrolls. See:

Voucher 180

From July - September 1863 C. Green Duff, as Quarter Master General of Alabama was the possible owner of 50 slaves numbered from 1051 to 1100 and loaned out as laborers to Brigadier General D. Leadbetter, Major of the Corps of Engineers. The Voucher indicates Green was paid $4560.00.[1]

"This payroll acknowledges that Brigadier General D. Leadbetter, Major of the Corps of Engineers, paid C. Green Duff, Quartermaster General of Alabama, for work performed by certain slaves as laborers at Mobile, Alabama, from July to September 1863. This payroll consists of a single sheet with slaves numbered from 1051 to 1100, as follows:
