- Richard Hayse was born about 1792. [10] Richard Hayse married Margaret Holden on 6 November 1818 at Cockerham, Lancashire.[11] Richard Hayes' death was registered Jul-Sep 1889 at Fylde, Lancashire. He was 96 years old and birth year estimated at 1793. (vol 8E, page 509, line 15) [12]
- Mary Hayes was born 22 February 1819 in Thurnham, Lancashire. Her parents were Margaret Holden and Richard Hayse.[13] Mary Hayse was baptised on 24 February 1819 in Thurnham - RC, Lancaster, Lancashire, England. Her birthdate is given as 22 Feb 1819 and her parents were Richard Hayse and Margaret Holden. [14]
- Mary Hayes marriage to William Crane was registered in the April-June quarter 1851. The marriage took place in West Derby, Lancashire. [15] [16]
- The 1861 census shows 42 year old Mary Crane living in Brownlow Street, Liverpool, Lancashire in the ecclesiastical parish of St Silas with her husband William (33) and 3 sons Richard E (9), William H (7) and James S (0). Her husband is an Innkeeper and with them are a visitor Richard Walmsley (18) and servant Mary ann French (27). It states she was born in Shrivenham, Lancashire.[17]
- According to the 1871 census Mary Crane (52) was the wife of William Crane (43) a licensed victualler living in Everton, Lancashire with their 3 children Mary Ann (15), James S (10) and Arthur A (9) and an 18 year old servant Mary Ellen Shaw. It states Mary was born in Thanington, Lancashire about 1819. [18]
- The 1881 census records Mary Craine (wrong spelling) living in Royston Street, West Derby aged 62. It states she was born in Thurnham, Lancashire. The household consists of her sons Richard E (head of the household, a Spirits & beer merchant aged 29, single) and William H (27, single draftsman (Artiz) and her husband William (53) who is out of business. An Irish servant girl also lives with them. [19]
- Her death is registered as Mary Crane Apr-June 1888 at West Derby, Lancashire aged 70. Her birth was estimated at 1818. (vol 8B, page 311, line 10). [20]

Hawker
John Joseph Crane (1854 - 1933) wine & spirits Merchant, married Florence Hawker (1859 - 1945) on Aug 1876 in St Nicholas RC Church, Liverpool, Lancashire.
Mary Hawker was the daughter of Samuel Hawker and Jane King. Samuel Hawker married Jane King in Apr-June 1857 in Yeovil, Somerset.[25] The 1871 census lists Samuel Hawker as the 37 year old head of the family living in Halewood, Lancashire with his wife Jane (33) and children: Florence (13), Sarah Ann (7), George (4) and Mary Jane (1). He is a Railway labourer born in Stafford, Somerset about 1834. [26] The birthplaces of the children show that the family travelled a lot with Samuel's work. In 1858 they were in Preston, Somerset (where his wife was born) and in 1864 were in Chowbent, Lancashire, 1867 Fenay Bridge, Yorkshire and 1870 Stalybridge, Cheshire, finally 1871 Halewood, Lancashire.

- The 1871 census lists Florence Hawker (daughter of Jane and Samuel Hawker, a railway labourer) as a 13 year old scholar living at 25 Baileys Lane, Halewood, Lancashire. Her birth is given as about 1858 in Preston, Somerset. Also living in the household are siblings Sarah Ann (7), George (4) and Mary Jane (1). [28]

- The 1891 census lists Florence Crane as the 32 year old wife of John Joseph Crane living in West Derby Road, West Derby, Lancashire in the ecclesiastical parish of St Margarets. Also in the household are her children: Evelyn (11), Arthur A (9), George A (7), Florence J (6) and Elvina G (0) plus a 15 year old servant Georgina Dow. [31]
- The 1901 census lists Florence as the wife of John Joseph (licensed victualler) living in West Derby Road, West Derby, Lancashire where she is assistant house manager. She is 42 years old, born in Yeovil, Somerset. Also in the household are her children Evelyn (21), George Alfred (17), Elvina G (10), and Florence J (16). [32]
- The 1911 census shows Florence as the 52 year old wife, assisting in the business of her husband John Joseph (licensed victualler) in West Derby, Liverpool, Lancashire. Her birthplace is given as Yeovil, Somerset about 1859. Living with them are their daughters Evelyn Crane (31, born Liverpool) and Elvina Gertrude Crane (20, born Liverpool). [33]
- Florence Crane's death was registered Jan-Mar 1945 at Liverpool North, Lancashire. She was 86 with birth year estimated at 1859. (vol 8B, page 648, line 88). [34]

- Not sure where Birth date 17 August 1856 came from. Her birth needs sourcing. A birth registration for 1st quarter 1859 fits with her being a 13 year old scholar in the 1871 census, and the 23 year old wife in 1881 census. In each census thereafter she is listed as x2 years old. The censuses state she was born in Yeovil.

- The 1871 census shows her as living in Halewood, Lancashire with her parents Jane (33) and Samuel (37, railway labourer) and siblings Florence (13), George (4) and Mary Jane (1) .
