Maud Ann Crites (22 Jul 1888 TX - 1 Feb 1982 TX) is my maternal grandmother. Prior to marrying my grandfather 21 Nov 1913 in Ardmore, Carter Co., OK, she gave birth to a child named "Agnes Odena Crites (3 May 1912 TX - 3 Jul 1983 TX). A few years later the BC of Agnes was created, showing Maud's brother, Jonathan Augustus Crites (20 Jul 1885 WV - 1 Dec 1959 TX) as the father and Maud McCurley as the maiden name of the mother. McCurley was Maud's married name/my grandfather's name. Agnes Odena Crites was eventually place din the Lena Pope Home and adopted by the Wharton Family of Fort Worth. She became a nurse, and director of nursing for a Fort Worth hospital system. Who was her father? There are tons of DNA profiles connecting to me through the "thru lines" of Crites, and of "Schell" the surname of Agnes Odena Crites' husband and her (at least 3) children. I THOUGHT I had found that some of the DNA matches were ALSO DNA matches with OTHER McCurleys, indicating that Maud's eventual husband, my grandfather, had been Agnes Odena's father, (making the abandoning of Agnes Odena even more tragic) but now I am not so sure that I traced those correctly. Any help finding the true paternal line of Agnes Odena Crites appreciated.
