Goals

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

Task List

1. clarification of the surname, i.e. Crosman, Crossman - same family? old English spelling with double "s" type letter converted to single "s" for sake of convenience? 2. when and if Crossmans originated from Germanic tribes and were indeed Franks. If so were they allied soldiers of Roman empire and remained in British Isles? 3. Why the large number of Crossmans in the Cornwall area of England? 4. Discovery of the ancestors of John Crossman, 1588-1688
