This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about the Crowe surname and the variants of that name in Ireland. As yet, there is no proof of connection to Crowe surnames in the north of Ireland and the much larger group of Crowes in Norfolk and Suffolk in England. However, the hope is to make connections with wherever in the world, where there is evidence to show the links. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.
There are two main aims - First to provide Irish trees for others to connect to. It is important to note that many people have trees with family members that were never recorded officially and we need people to contribute these extra names.
Second to provide bridges where the name has travelled to the wide diaspora of Irish people abroad. These are the migrants and the people who had different lives abroad who link the world wide population to the Irish origins.
I have studied and have resources for those interested in - Roman Catholic Baptisms and Marriages (all Ireland) Census lists of 1901 and 1910 (all Ireland) Governemnt BMD for TIpperary, Thurles, Nenagh, Cashe and Limerick though they are freely available online. [www.genealogyonline.ie]
The above were created as the only means to identify the handwritten and anecdotal evidence I started with for my own trees. Please write if you think it may be useful to you?
