Ireland
The first Cudmore to live in Ireland was Paul Cudmore (abt.1614-abt.1692). He was a lawyer who came to Ireland with Cromwell’s army in the regiment of Colonel Phaire. Paul’s future father-in-law, Captain Michael Gale (-1681), was a member of the same regiment.
We don't yet know where Paul came from, probably from Devon but we don't know who his parents were or where he got his education.
Australia
Daniel Michael Paul Cudmore (1811-1891) came to Australia from Ireland in 1835, first to Tasmania and the settled in South Australia.
