Curraheen Townland has an area of 135.36 hectares / 0.52 square miles / 334 acres, 1 rood, 36 perches. It is bordered by the townlands of Glenaguile, Gortagarry, Kiloskehan and Knockgarve.[1] It can be found in the Downs Survey. [2] The Down Survey map also shows a townland named Dromone (presumably Dromeen in the following deeds) which is not shown in contemporary townland maps.

Many of the Short/Shortt deeds in the Registry of Deeds in Dublin link together Gortagarry, Dromeen (Cuolog) and Curraheen in a single lot. See Space:Gortagarry_Townland.

1711 - James Short of Killmastolly and Jane May to Robert Pyke re Gurtnapissy in Curaheen, Upper Ormond. Witnesses Jonathan Short Gent and James Short Yeoman.[3] (This is one deed that mentions Curraheen but not Gortagarry.)
