Description of Hint - 568: Wikidata - Unconnected branches to global tree

Some WikiTree profiles are matched with a profile in WikiData see Space:Wikidata.

This Wikidata (notable) profile has no connection to the WikiTree global tree.

As the Data Doctor Project has no access to private profiles this profile can be already connected to the WikiTree global tree through private profiles...

Content of info column: ID of the branch. Profiles with same branchID are connected to each other, so with connecting any profile to global tree you remove all errors of that branch.

Possible Causes

  • No connection to public tree was found.

Action Steps

  • Find a connection to other profiles or add missing profiles to connect to the global tree.

Technical Stuff

All profiles, that are connected to Wikidata are checked for connection to global tree. Orphan profiles are ignored.

In db_Errors project, I build a tree based on data in database dump. And in dump protected profiles are excluded, private and private with public bio don't have parent relations and all private profiles don't have marriages. So in absence of this data my global tree is smaller than Wikitree's. It's size in Nov 2016 is 7,028,366 out of 10M+ profiles. It could be called public global tree.

If, like me, you have trouble understanding this error's description, another way to say it is: We know this person is famous because they have an entry on Wikipedia, so we are likely to know a lot of information about them, so we would expect them to be connected to the shared global tree (containing 15 million people), but it seems that nobody has made a connection yet (unless there is an invisible connection via private profiles). To fix this "error", if you can, add public family members until the person is connected to the global tree.
