I have a couple of these errors because the apostrophe was written typographically (i.e. as ’ not '). Is this usage disallowed?

Usually, a straight quote is required. If you look at the Suggestion List for 602, the "Info" column will contain the incorrect separator. IF you send the links for the profiles containing the suggestion, we can verify the issue.

Please change your security to "orange" or "yellow" lock so we can check directly.

Thank you for your cooperation and question.

Thanks Sheryl,

I am aware of why the suggestion was made and how to fix it; I was just unaware that it was a Wikitree policy to disallow typographical punctuation in location fields.

This is a new suggestion just published this week so check the Info column on the report to see the exact cause for generating 602 on the profiles.

I think there is no official wording on special characters, but in name fields they were reduced to the essential ones. Eventually the same will probably happen for the location fields. Main problem with use of ’ vs. ' is in search engines, where you get only the ones, that match. And since the ' is used most of the times, I decided to prefer that one.

Good answer, Aleš! Of course, it is since you wrote the suggestion.
