Description of Error - 8071: Headings in Category Content

Headings are used within the category page's content.

Content of info column: N/A

Possible Causes

Headings are a way to improve the organization of text on a specific page. While these are required for person profiles, and useful on other page types like Help and Space pages, Headings should not be used on Categories since they already contain Headings based on the content that is attached to them. If Headings are used or are needed in order to separate text and convey information on a category page, then the content is to long and should be moved to a free-space profile.

The content of a category page should briefly describe the purpose of the category, including one or two sentences about the category itself, especially if there is any confusion about when this category should be used and when it should not. Category text:

  • should describe the purpose of the category; and
  • should not contain unique content.

Action Steps

Remove Headings from the Category content. In many cases, bolding the text is a better option than using headings. If the content is long, move the extra content to a free-space profile and provide a link to that page.

As an example, you can change ==See also== to '''See also'''.
