Description of Error - 971: Missing image

The image reference in the text/narrative (i.e. biography or template) of the profile is referring to a file that doesn't exist.

Content of info column: Name of the missing image.

Possible Causes

• Typo.
• The image was deleted after all profiles were removed from the image.
• The profile was created/uploaded with the image reference but the image was not uploaded.

Action Steps

• Correct the typo in the image name.
• Find the new image to use instead.
• Upload the missing image to the profile.

Technical Stuff

All images are checked if they exist on wikitree.

The most common cause is the misconception that referencing an image from the text of the profile keeps the file from being deleted. However, the image is marked for deletion and eventually is removed after the last profile is removed from the In this image: list.
Referencing an image from within the TEXT of a profile (that is, in the Category Templates, Biography, Research Notes, Source, or Acknowledgements sections) will NOT prevent the image from being deleted from Wikitree!
