New link to error report

Chris added new link to errors on profiles, that user maneges. It is located in My wikitree menu, fifth item Error report. This is most useful link to see errors on your profiles.

Statistics of Lists By

On WikiTree+ I added statistics on total number of error for each group, that I prepare specialised lists for. They have only one value for now, but trends will be visible in time.

Location Find and Replace

I changed the function, so it compares end of location text with Find text. And it replaces only the found part. Before whole text had to match.

When making a change, I also added reformatting of the string. I remove all double spaces, all spaces before each comma and dot, and add single space after each comma and dot. Exception is dot and comma together ".,", where I don't add space between them.

I also removed the Maximum number of profiles.

For those who missed initial announcement, here is the old news: I added new possibility to replace one text in location into another. It uses Automatically suggested corrections. It is available on Wikitree+ in Search section Replace Location item.

Example to change Virginia, British Colonial America to Virginia Colony. [1]

Prepared error lists By...

I made error lists we used during Clean-A-Thon as part of weekly update. Here is central navigation page for prepared error lists: Space:DBE_Errors_By. I will add all lists here.

I prepared errors for all US states and some countries, that were used during CAT. Also for some projects are prepared lists. I am still not sure about naming project pages. US states will be named with 2 letter code. DBE_ErrorList_XX You can put any table on any page you want like {{:DBE_ErrorList_ME}}. It will be updated automatically on all pages where this is used. For other countries 3 letter code is used. For projects, I didn't decide jet.

There may also be some errors shown, that don't belong to that country. If you find a few of them, let me know, so I can try to find the pattern and improve error selection. I didn't check the lists. It is a lot of them. I know that West Virginia errors are shown also in Virginia error report. For other I don't know.

Public profiles opened

As some of you already noticed, 600000 public profiiles were opened last week. That enables you to correct many errors, that coulcn't be corrected before.

Find And Replace

I added new possibility to replace one text in location into another. It uses Automatically suggested corrections. It is available on Wikitree+ in Search section Replace Location item.

For those of you going through gender errors: I'm going through error 503 (Probable wrong gender, male) 1500-1699 for French names and find a lot of false errors. For the record, Claude is a fairly common name for women in French. Ambroise, Hilaire, Philippe, Sulpice were all acceptable for girls. Laurence and Valentine are definitely feminine.
