Location: Québec, Canada, New France
Surname/tag: Daudelin
My Branch of this huge family migrated to Vermont, USA and then Massachusetts. Looking for other family members. Vermont records record surname as "Doody, Doodly, Doodla, and Dodelin" Daudelin appears in some Massachusetts records and then in 1890's name is recorded as "Dudley" So much fun - but have managed to trace line back to good old Nicolas Daudelin 1636-1699 our immigrant ancestor and my 8th great grandfather and the 11th generation back from myself.
Can anyone interpret Nicolas's marriage record to Anne Girard from the French into English for me. Thanks. Diane

Ann died in 1710. Nicolas died in 1699. My great-grandfather, Jean-Joseph Daudelin, moved to Massachusetts from Saint-Cesaire Rouville, Quebec in the late 19th century. He married Sophie Sorrel of Columbus, Ohio there in 1887. PS: Not many Daudelins here in NYC, but I've been told that the name is not uncommon in northern Vermont.
