My grandfather, David Edward Cook Sr., born 1932 in Dexter, IA, was in the Navy stationed in California 1951-1954. While there he had a child out of wedlock, a daughter. Story has it that he did marry the mother after the birth but she died in a car accident on their honeymoon. Her parents took the little girl and he never saw her again. He never spook of it to anyone but my mothers ex-husbands mother who passed shortly after he did in 2000. My grandfather has a much younger brother and sister who are still alive but they dont remember anything, as they were 7 and 5 at the time, but his sister does recall the name Stacy/Stacey but if was the wife, daughter, or last name we do not know, and I cant find any marriage license for the marriage.
