Property Deeds
In 1838, David owned a "negro man slave" named Isaac, about 35 years old with a black complexion. Isaac was used as collateral for a loan. David hired Isaac out to Moses Hall before 1838 at a rate of $65 per year. The terms of the loan stated that Moses Hall would keep possession of Isaac until the loan was paid off. It is not known if Isaac was brought to Union County when David Conn moved there in 1839.[1]
In David bought a negro man named Bob, about 25 years old for $1400 from K.A. & W.M. Riddle[2]
