David Presbury/Presson of Saco, Beverly and Manchester
In about 2013, while conducting research in the Essex County (Mass) deed grantee index for surname Presbury, an early deed was found for "David Presbury." This deed was recorded 8 April 1712; the property was located at Manchester; it had been acquired from William Hirst, see Essex County (Mass) deeds, 23:257. This was the first grantee deed recorded under the surname. (The only other Essex grantees for that surname were Edward and "Rendal"--surely both the sons of William Presbury and his wife, Priscilla Randall.)
By the 1712 deed, David Presbury of Manchester, fisherman, acquired about two acres of land in Manchester bounded in part by a highway and by "Land of Joseph Woodberry." The seller, Hirst, had taken possession of the property via 1708 judgement against William Harsham.[1] As above, this deed is otherwise Essex County (Mass) Deeds 23:257. Separately, William Harsham seems otherwise to be William Hassam or his same-named son, William Hassam.
In 1726, as David Presson of Manchester, fisherman, he sold to "my brother Benjamin Presson," also of Manchester, a "small piece of Land: containing "A Sixth part of an Acre" described further as "being in the Westermost parts of Land formerly granted to William Horsuum For a House Lott" and bounded in part by a highway and "Woodberry's Wall." Witness to the 1726 deed are Priscilla Presson ("Prescilla Prissin," her mark) and John Lee Junr.[2]
There is little doubt that his "brother" Benjamin Presson is the man who was the son of William Presbury and his wife, Priscilla Randall.

My sister Anne Pearce of Manchester. Anna Presson and John Pearce married at Manchester, 20 October 1747. InternetArchive. He died 4 January 1766, "a. 40 y." (cites church record, InternetArchive) [thus born about 1726]. See Essex County, Massachusetts, probate, John Pierce, etc. 1766, #21180. AmericanAncestors. His parentage still unknown/unproven. They seem to have been the parents of five children posted to her profile, Anna (Presson) Pearce (abt.1726-1795)
Kinsman Isaac Presson. Presumed his great-nephew, Isaac Presson. Note: Initially thought this was referring to his nephew, Isaac, born 24 September 1748 , and the only child of Isaac Presson (bef.1725-1749) (who was "drowned in way to Lisbon, a. 25 y."), InternetArchive; however, elsewhere in the will, the names of that Isaac's daughter are called out, and he is "my Kinssman Isaac Presson's late of Manchester, deceased." That particular passage mentions the deceased's daughters as the "surviving five children"--it presumably should have read, "surviving five daughters ..."
Kinsman David Presson. Probably his great-nephew, David Presson, born 1780; brother of above Isaac Presson, both sons of Isaac Presson and Deborah Lee. See probate case #22695 [guardianship], 13 November 1794 for David Preston. At Manchester, 22 October 1794, David Presson of ... Three surviving children of John Pearce, deceased ... This presumably refers to his nephew John Pearce, possibly the man who married "Abihail Poland," 10 October 1747. Need to seek a probate record. The mother seems recorded as "Abial"; they also seem to have had a son William Pearce (InternetArchive; no further record as yet).
