History

The Davies cemetery was the family cemetery of Anthony Harpin Davies and his wives, Emily Virginia Aldridge Davies (1809-1839) and Mildred P. Gaines Davies (1815-1900) of Lake Hall Plantation. The cemetery contains 13 documented burials and may contain more. Most of the graves are built slightly above ground. Most if not all burials were sealed or covered with concrete slabs sometime before 1930 to discourage vandalism. The cemetery itself is surrounded by an ornamental wrought iron fence with a gate. The cemetery is situated in an open field on private property.

Notable Monuments

The obelisk for Anthony H Davies and Mildred Pollard (Gaines) Davies lists their names, dates and locations of birth and dates of death as well as the names of their children. A large monument for one of their sons, Frederick Walter Davies, is south of it.
