Alphabetical List of Maples who lived in Salt Creek Township

Benjamin Maple, heir of Elizabeth Maple, married Rhoda Reed in Jefferson County, Ohio in 1829. in 1839, Benjamin purchased 40 acres in Salt Creek Township from Daniel Merrick. He lived there until his death in 1874.
David Maple of Boone County, Kentucky (son of the David Maple who died in Coshocton County, Ohio in 1839) purchased 40 acres in Salt Creek Township from Isaiah Maple in 1850. David and wife Hannah sold that land in 1855, but David continued to live in Salt Creek Township through 1860. No record of him is found after the 1860 US Census. David may have also lived in Salt Creek Township around 1841-1845, prior to moving to Boone County, Kentucky, as his son Daniel B. Maple and daughter Margaret Ellen Maple were born in Indiana.
David Maple Jr of Carroll County, Ohio purchased land in Salt Creek Township in 1838. David inherited the family farm in Carroll County, Ohio from his father, John Maple, who died in 1846, and David was living in Carroll County, Ohio in 1850. David sold his land in Salt Creek Township in 1852 to his brother in law, David Marshall.
Francis Marion Maple - heir of Elizabeth Maple
Hannah Maple, sister of David Maple, was living with her second husband, John Maple in Salt Creek Township in 1860. Hannah married her first husband, Ezekiel Mahon, in Coshocton County, Ohio in 1839. Around 1847, Ezekiel and Hannah moved to Boone County, Kentucky, where Ezekiel died before 1850. Hannah married John Maple there in 1851.
Henry W. Maple in 1840 purchased 40 acres in Salt Creek township adjacent to land of Benjamin Maple. In 1854, Henry patented land in Appanoose County, Missouri.
Isaiah Maple, grandson of John Maple, patented 40 acres in Salt Creek Township in 1848. Isaiah and wife Nancy sold this land in 1850, and they purchased land in Saline Township, Jefferson County, Ohio in 1852.
Jane (Maple) Lockhart - heir of Elizabeth Maple
Jasper Newton Maple - lived in Salt Creek from 1850 (when his father David purchased land there) to his death in 1899.
John Maple, heir of Elizabeth Maple married Hannah (Maple) Mahon in Boone County, Kentucky in 1851. John and Hannah were enumerated in Salt Creek Township in the 1860 US Census.
Joseph Maple, son of David Maple, married Mary Maple, daughter of Thomas Maple.
Thomas Maple, who married Mary Rider in Harrison County, Ohio in 1827, sold his land in Carroll County, Ohio in 1852. He was living in Salt Creek Township with his daughter Mary, wife of Joseph Maple, in 1860.
William Maple purchased 40 acres in Salt Creek Township in 1850. William & wife Margaret sold this land in 1855, and they patented land in Putnam County, Missouri in 1857.

On 5 July 1854, Elizabeth Maple of Decatur County, Indiana purchased land from John and Hellen Rapp[10]:
1 acre in: E½ NW¼ Sec 14 – Twp 10 – R10E for $200.00; Recorded 1 Dec 1854.
On 17 February 17 1857, Benjamin Maple of Decatur County, Indiana sold interest in this one acre to Joseph Maple of Decatur County, Indiana for $80.00 (Recorded 16 March 1871).
On 20 March 1858, John and Hannah Maple of Decatur County, Indiana sold interest in this one acre to Joseph Maple for $3.00 (Recorded 16 March 1871).
On 17 March 1866, Francis M Maple sold interest in this one acre to Joseph Maple for $10.00 (Recorded 16 March 1871).
On 16 March 1871, Jane Lockhart of Ripley County, Indiana sold interest in this one acre for $10.00 (Recorded 20 March 1871).
