Know all men by these presents that we Alfred S. Beauchamp Trustee for Emily Jane Beauchamp wife of said Alfred Beauchamp and James H. Brown of Union County Kentucky of the first part have sold and delivered to John W. Berry now of Union County Kentucky of the second part a negro woman named Betsey aged about 18 years of black complexion and her infant child Robert Morrison about four months old which negros we warrant to be sound in body and mind and free from all encumbrances and slaves for life for which negro the said Berry has this day conveyed to said Alfred Beauchamp Trustee for Emily Jane Beauchamp a negro woman named Arie and her two children named Alexander & George and said Beauchamp Trustee as aforesaid pays said Berry Two hundred & twenty five Dollars in the exchange in cash..

I Jeff Brown clerk of the County Court of Union County in the State of Kentucky do certify that this Bill of Sale from Alfred S Beauchamp and Emily J. Beauchamp and James H. Brown to John W. Berry was this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by said Beauchamp and Brown to be their act and deed and she the said Emily J. being examined by privately and apart from her husband declared that she did freely and willingly sign seal and deliver said writing and wished not to remark it and acknowledged said writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and deed and consented that the same might be recorded whereupon same was together with this certificate duly admitted to record in my office. Witness my hand this 17th day of October 1853.

Know all men by these presents that I John W. Berry of Union County Kentucky have this day exchanged with Alfred S. Beauchamp Trustee forEmily Jane Beauchamp wife of said Alfred Beauchamp the negro woman of said Berry Arie aged about twenty years and her two sons Alexander about three years old and George about six months which negroes the said John W. Berry warrants to be sound in body and mind clear of all encumbrances and slaves for life and in payment for which negroes the said Beauchamp Trustee as aforesaid has this day sold and conveyed to said Berry a negro woman named Betsey aged about 18 years and her infant child Robert Morrison ages about four months and paid him Two hundred and twenty five dollars. Witness his hand this 14 day of October 1853.
