(pg 208) North Carolina This Indenture made the thirtyeth Day of December in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty nine Between

- Nicholas Cavenah,
- Henry Cavenah, of Halifax County in the Government of Georgia and
- Aquila Cavenah of Orange County in the Province of North Carolina of the one Part and
- Moses Horn of Hallifax County of the Province of North Carolina of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said David Cavenah, Nicholas Cavenah, Henry Cavenah & Aquila Cavenah for & in Consideration of the sum of one Hundred and Seventeen Pounds Virginia Currency on Gold - Silver to us in hand paid at or before the Ensealing Delivery here of the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and the said David Cavenah Nicholas Cavenah Henry Cavenah & Aquila Cavenah, doth hereby Acquit & Discharge have given Granted Bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth fully freely & absolutely give grant Bargain Sell & Release & confirm Unto the sd Moses Horn his Heirs and assigns forever Fore tracts or parcels of Land Containing Two Hundred Acres more or less in the County of Edgecombe in the Province of North Carolina on the north Side of Tarr River Sixty Acres part of the aforesd Land Being on the South side of Tarr River Road it being part of a Pattent Given to Charles Cavenah Jun By his Father Charles Cavenah Deceased Which sd Pattant was Dated in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and thirty Nine Beginning at the said Road on the South Side at Joseph Sumners Line then by the said line to Charles Colmans Line then By the sd Colmans Line to Mary Cavenahs Line then by Mary Cavenahs Line to Horns own Line then by Horns line to the Road & up the Road to the Beginning thirty Acres more or less of the Sd Lying on the River Begining at the sd River at Wm Grays Corner at a Hickory then along the sd. Grays line to Arthur Cavenahs Line then along the saidCavenahs line to a Red Oak on the River then up the Windings of the River (pg 209) to the Beginning Sixty Acres more or less of the afore sd Land lying on the aforesd. River Beginning at the River at the mouth of a gully at Horns Corner thenup the River to a Red Oak on the River Bank in the Edg of the Loegrounds & then along a line of Marked trees to the sd Grays Line then along the sd Grays Line to Mary Cavenah then Mary Cavenahs Line to the sd Horns then alongHorns Line to the Beginning Fifty Acres more or less of the Aforesd Land on the North side of Tarr River Beginning on the north side of Tarr River Road and being all that part of Land that lies on the North Sid of tarr River Road Beginning at the sd Road on the North Side of Joseph Sumners line then by the sd line to the Old Pattent Line then along the sd Pattant to Sharrard Haywoodes Line then along the said line to the old former Road then up the sd Road to the Beginning Together with all Houses and Buildings thereon and all our Rites titles & Interest in & to the said Premises & the Reversion & Reversions Remaindor & Remaindors rents issues & proffets thereof With the Appurtenances To have and to Hold the said fore tracts of Land with all Edificies Proffit Priveledges Heridatamenth and appurtenances to the same belonging to the said Moses Horn his Heirs and assigns forever he or they paying Quitrents for the same of the sd David Cavenah, Nicholas Cavenah, Henry Cavenah & Aquila Cavenah us ourselves Our heirs Exrs & admrs doth Covenant Promise & agree to giveth the sd Moses Horn his Heirs or assigns that the above granted Premises are free & Clear of all charges & incumbrances Whatsoever and that the said David Cavenah, Nicholas Cavenah Henry Cavenah, & Aquila Cavenah hath & Inde---able Estate of inheratance in fee simple in & to the sd Premises & hath full Power & Authority to sell & Dispose of the same and the sd David Cavenah Nicholas Cavenah Henry Cavenah & Aquila Cavenah our heirs Exrs & Admrs. Shall and will Warrant Secure & for Ever Defend the same to the said Moses Horn his Heirs and assigns forever against the Lawfull Claims or Demands of us the said David Cavenah, Nicholas Cavenah, Henry Cavenah & Aquila Cavenah our Heirs Exrs Admrs. or assigns or any other Person or persons claiming for by or under Us or them or for Us or Thou Use & shall & will at any time hereafter on the Reasonable Reques of the Moses Horn his Heirs or assigns make & Execute such other Convey any in the Law for the Better Confirming or thou making the said Premises to the sd Moses Horn his Heirs & assigns in Maner aforesd In Witness whereof us the sd David Cavenah, Nicholas Cavenah, Henry Cavenah, & Aquila Cavenah.
