John Gottfried Ours was born about 1755, and died in 1792. He married Anna Maria Wetherhold in Winchester VA January 28, 1776. John had some acreage surveyed near present day Morgantown, WV October 17, 1781.

Nicholas Ours, a son of John Gottfried and Anna Maria (Wetherhold) Ours, was born in 1787 and died in Lewis County WV April 15, 1874. He married Mary Ann Casto in Harrison County VA (WV) in 1815. Mary was born May 22, 1793 and died June 28, 1835. Nicholas married Avis Tenney. Avis, a daughter of James Sr. and Thankful (Shippe) Tenney, was born in MA January 5, 1803 and died March 3, 1856.
