Founded in 1877 as Second Colored Baptist Church, later known as Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and then Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, this church was where Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. pastored from 1954-1960. See church's History page for more information.
