My Grandmother was born a Digan, in Tullamore, County Offaly. She married a John Kelly and they later moved to Bagenalstown, County Carlow, I remember her very well (she died when I was 19) and she was always a very devout Catholic. She actually LEFT her husband in Ireland and moved to London with her oldest sons and my Father (her youngest) when he was 13. I always admired her for that.. very forward thinking in those days! Apparently my Grandfather was a violent man. I went to Ireland in 2007 to try to track down some ancestors and found the Genealogy Centre at Tullamore. They were very helpful and it was there I found there are several mis-spelling of the Digan surname.

I added your group to the surname as it appears to be a variation from the research I have done with distant cousins.
