Previous research has sometimes erroneously linked #1 or #3 to the family of Richard Kent Sr (abt.1586-1654) & Emma (Unknown) Kent (aft.1600-1677), but they have since been shown to be two separate families.[1] The family of Richard, (who also has a son named John Kent (1645-1703)), settled in Newbury, Essex, MA, while Kent family #3 initially settled in Dedham, Norfolk, MA, and later on in what is now Bristol County, RI.[2] Unfortunately, a few previously published books have propagated this earlier error.

John Kent is not the son of Richard Kent. I have found two publications printed with wrong information by the authors. I have researched this and written a document of my research. The only true document is that of Vernon Briggs of the Kent families.

People are reporting from these errored documents and people are copying them with wrong information.

John Kent of Dedham then Charleston, ma came from England in 1645 with his brother Joshua and another brother named Joseph. At this time, no documentation has not been found to connect This John Kent to Richard Kent.

Also, Richard Kent came from southern England and John Kent came from midwestern England.

Yes, your work made sense to me. But on this page, person 3's description says he is the son of Richard, and that is incorrect, right? When you click on the link, it takes you to the right person though.

Okay, I fixed the error. I work on updating the remainder soon.
This file is about the research of John Kent and misinformation published in other books.

L.Vernon Briggs is the only correct book I have found. https://jhanrahan.weebly.com/uploads/1/1/4/8/114828137/john___richard_kent__bad_info.pdf

I am confused. Based on your papers, it looks like the John Kent who married Sarah Woodman was the son of Richard, while the John Kent who was one of the 3 brothers who immigrated married Hannah Griswold. But this page seems to be saying the opposite?
John Kent born in 1645 Newbury, MA is the son of Richard Kent and this john Married Sarah Woodman.

John Kent born around 163? in England came to the colonies in 1645 and he married Hannah Griswold. This John has two brothers. https://jhanrahan.weebly.com/ On this web site at the bottom left of the page is my documents about these Kent families.
