Petition in Equity to see the slaves belonging to the Heirs of Harrison Holt dec’d filed in Union County Court & afterwards transferred to the Circuit Court.
At the April term 1855 Tho. S. Chapman was appointed a Commissioner to sell the slaves except the dower slaves who sold the same at the July Co. Court 1855 (2nd day of the month) on six months credit with interest from date as follows”

Received Febry 2nd 1856 of Thomas S. Chapman Commissioner as stated within Six Hundred Seventy three dollars & Twenty five cents the amt due each of us as heirs of Harrison Holt deceased being one ninth of the proceeds of sale of slaves by said Commissioner after deducting costs as stated within. O. Holcomb who married Susan Holt received the interest of his children Eugene B. and Susan A. as their Guardian appointed in District of Grundy State of Connecticut & filed his petition in Union county Court agst said Chapman Comr as stated within & said Court authorized said Comr to pay him the $673.25 his 1/9. H. Cowgill admr of Tho. B. Holt and Guardian of his children receives $673.25 their 1/9. Sol Deivees as Guardian of his child receives their int 673.25. A. Waller as assee of J. A. J. Holt, receives his interest $675.25.

Holt dec’d on the 16th day of February 1856 and by Oliver Holcomb as Guadn Eugene B. & Susan A. Holcomb on the 25th day of Febry 1856 & by Peter C. Holt on this day to be their act & deed respectively. Witness my hand this 19th day of March 1856.
