Dear Sir,

There are 40 muskets (minus) drawn by the Newman Guards, more at Pensacola. I understand, gone hardly unused, their return to the (?). I further deem that they are young and unfit for service. I have a company just organized, not yet supplied with the arms and would like exceedingly well to have the use of them til my company til I can include other arms for them. Can give you any (?) you may devise for their safe and prompt return when demanded. Please let me hear from at once.
