Dohn Name Study

Dohn Name Study

How to Join

Please contact the project leader Jeff Timmons or post a comment at the foot of the page. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks! If anyone would like to correspond regarding Dohn ancestry I am fully willing to carry on any such discussions even if you don't wish to do so via this one name study.

Goals

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

Task List

  1. Begin documenting patriarchs of the differing Dohn families which have been documented here on Wikitree.

What are the surname variations for this study? ... Any relation to Done or Dunn?

Bree,

I am not aware of any variations that have transitioned to or from Dohn but am certainly open to adding some variations. I considered Doan as I have encountered it a few times as a variation in the ancestry records I have seen to date.

So far, the Dohns I am aware of came from Germany to Canada and then to the United States so any variations that originated in those countries certainly make sense.
