History

Dorn Cemetery is part of the Dorn Chapel grounds. A faith community was established under the name "Union Church" in 1891 as an "all-faiths" (meaning all Protestant denominations) church by the Rev. J. W. Montgomery. The original church building was built by John Melvin Dorn, G. W. Richardson and neighbors. They replaced the original one-room building in 1905. The cemetery is the final resting place for many members of the Union/Dorn community.

The first dated burial took place in 1898, with the most recent being in January of 2021.
