Special Hearing

The hearing for the Dorset Machine Breakers and Rioters was held at the Special Assizes in January 1831.

6 men sentenced to death - all Death sentences commuted. 3 men transported for seven years, and 3 men commuted to imprisonment for six months or less. 10 men sentenced to seven years. Oldest convict transported aged 57 and the youngest 21.
