Andrew Dotte (bef. 1796 - unknown) from the Netherlands was the father of Joseph Dotte (1819-1901) who emigrated to the United States (Minnesota) from the Netherlands. His descendants have used the surname variants of Doty, Dotte, Totten, (and others).

Andrew's son Peter Doty (1864 - 1950 had descendants that settled in Minnesota.
Edward Doty (Pilgrim) Descendants

I'm not sure which research lines you follow, but anyway, I connected one of my Bruce family sidelines today, emigrated from Aberdeenshire to Illinois, and then to marriage to Levi Doty's daughter, Elizabeth or Libby, who married James Garden, (his mother was a Bruce) and found this in archive org, if you are interested. Doty-Doten Family written in 1895. Regards, David.
