Biography
Caution. A previous version of this profile claimed, without source, that his father was Christopher Carver. Pending adequate sourcing, that father has been detached.
Richard Carver was born about 1577 in England. His parents are unknown. Richard was a husbandman; he died between 18 Dec 1638 and 9 Sep 1641 at Watertown, Massachusetts.
On 14 Nov 1614 Richard married Margaret Skurrie at Filby, Norfolk. Margaret died in Nov 1618, buried on 16 Nov 1618 at Filby, Norfolk. Margaret was probably closely related to the Henry Skurrie of Yarmouth who was listed on the same passenger list as Richard Carver and his family. Margaret died about a month after her twin daughters were born.
According to Anderson (Filby Parish Register), Richard married secondly, Elizabeth who was buried on 1 Dec 1622 at Filby, Norfolk. Curiously, a Richard Carver married Elizabeth Mynne at Filby, Norfolk in 1597.[1]
On 7 Jul 1623 Richard married thirdly, Grace Walker at St Stephen’s, Norwich. Grace died 21 Jul 1671 at Watertown, Massachusetts. Grace first married Richard Carver, second Michael Barstow as his third wife.

Research Notes
Prior marriage? There may have been a still earlier marriage in 1597 to Elizabeth Mynne. While the prior marriage is possible, Anderson recognized three as (1) Margaret Skurrie, (2) Elizabeth _____, and (3) Grace Walker, with the first two marriages based largely on the tight cluster of recorded marriages, baptisms and burials recorded at Filby, 1614-1622.
