Lot Conant (abt.1624-bef.1674)
Lott2 Conant was born at Nantasket, now Hull,[1] Plymouth Colony, about 1624 (he was age 50 when he wrote his will). He died in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, between 24 September 1674 (date of will) and 29 September 1674 (date will proved). Lott was the son of Roger1 Conant and his wife, Sarah Horton.[2]
Lott Conant married, perhaps Marblehead,[citation needed] about 1649, as her first husband, Elizabeth Walton. Elizabeth was born in Seaton, Devonshire, England, 27 October 1629.[3][4][5] She died, perhaps Lynn, after 1683.[6] Elizabeth was the daughter of William1 Walton and his wife, Elizabeth Cooke.[7] She married (2) in Lynn, 10 January 168[1/2], as his third wife, Andrew2 Mansfield (Robert1).[8][9] He died probably Boston, having apparently taken ill during a session of the General Court,[10] between 19 November 1683 (date of codicil) and 25 November 1683 (codicil proved).[11]
On 20 November 1666 Roger Conant deeded his dwelling house and adjoining land "for ye love & naturall affection which I beare & have unto my sonn Lott Conant ...,"[12][13] and Roger's will dated 1 March 1677[/8], proved 25 November 1679, refers to, "my son Lott his ten children …"[14]
In the nuncupative will of Josiah Walton, made 23 June 1673, proved 25 : 9 : 1673 [25 November 1673], he called his sister Elizabeth Conant.[15][16] She was "Elizabeth Mansfield" in a 29 March 1683 agreement between the heirs of Mr. William Walton.[17][18][19]
