Draft proposal on how to group occupations for the United States Marshal Service

I want to create new categories for U.S. Marshall Service Occupations. I'm working on a space page for the Western District Court of Arkansas and the law enforcement who worked for the court. For example; U.S. Deputy Marshals, U.S. Special Deputy Marshals, U.S. Jailers, Guards, Posse, etc.

Some of these positions do not exist, and before I add them, I would like to define a structure. For my project, I'm interested in the Western District of Arkansas. So when occupations are added for individual positions, I want to know what region they represent.

Below is a proposal on how we could categorize them and identify them by district.

Top Level

The top level [Categories: Law Enforcement] already exists, and I think we should keep it as the top level for all law enforcement occupations.

Mid-Level

A U.S. Marshals category already exists this year, but I want to separate occupations U.S. Deputy Marshals, U.S. Special Deputy Marshals, U.S. Jailers, Guards, Posse, etc. that fall under the U.S. States Marshal Service. I propose this level be renamed U.S. Marshall Services to be an umbrella for all occupations in the U.S. Marshal Service.

To put regions under U.S. Marshals will be confusing to people, because you would then have an occupation under regions for U.S. Marshals.

Sub-Categories Overview

I want to separate occupations by region. There are 94 districts in the marshals service. I'm interested in Arkansas occupations, and those who served in the Western District under Judge Isaac Parker, "Hanging Judge", and others in the district. Therefore, if someone wants to find law men who served under Parker, they need to be identified by a region.

Since the Marshal Service had the courts divided into 94 regions, I propose we use it. You could start with States at this level and make the district a sub-section of this. That would be fine if it makes more since.
