Drumconway Townland, Tamlaght Parish, County Tyrone

Also spelt as Drumconvis. This townland is south-east of the village of Coagh, and about 7 miles east of Cookstown.

See Category: Drumconway Townland, Tamlaght Parish, County Tyrone for an information box and list of people associated with this townland.

BELL family discussion

The BELL surname is seen in great force in this townland; and also in nearby townlands including Drumad, Mullaghwotragh, Urbal, and Mullaghtironey.

However, in the Freeholders' Register, only Drumconway has any Bells. This perhaps suggests that this Bell family originally settled Drumconway and then spread out as time went on.

These Bells may be unrelated to the Bell families seen just to the north of Cookstown.
