The Dungog Cemetery is located on the edge of town and is the main cemetery for the Williams River Valley. It was established in the mid 1800's and was known as Hanley's Flat Cemetery. The cemetery contains approximately 2500 graves some of which have fallen into disrepair or disappeared completely. As well, several churches in Dungog have columbariums which contain the ashes of a further 700 people.

The cemetery is divided into denominational sections as well as having a general lawn cemetery, columbarium and a small War Cemetery.
