The "notable Ontarian" feature of 16 January 2023 was the first to use CC7 count as a selection criterion. This change is associated with but not necessarily contributory to a drop in the proportion of women, from 34.2% before to (as at 14 November 2023) 30.7% after.

From 15 May 2024 the format changed to Connection Checkers games.

This is a super important tracking page and I wanted to thank you for creating it (and the efforts you make more generally to recommending more diverse choices). Gender should be one of the easiest diversity criteria to tackle because there's a tickbox. Is there anything I can do to help support?

Thanks very much, Natasha. Yes, gender is easy to track for the reason you gave, and also because there is a clear 50–50 target. For support, the more there are of us nominating profiles on a basis of diversity across multiple dimensions for the weekly themes and elsewhere (as you are already doing), the easier it will be for such profiles to be featured and for WikiTree to become more widely representative.

On that note, I noticed today that Doctor Who is a planned theme. I did a bit of work on Jodie Whittaker Jodie Whittaker a few weeks ago (because I was trying to find a Yorkshire connection :-)). She is connected but just through one string. I managed to add both a bit extra to her paternal side, linking her to some unlinked profiles Harry Whittaker (1915-1981) and, more crucially (as I've noticed it's better for notables to be linked both sides) to her maternal side Edwin Auckland (1898-1942). Neither are linked as yet though and I've been noticing that a double sided connection to living notables is quite important. More so I would say than a high CC7. There's only one female and one non-white doctor and Ncuti Gatwa is as yet unconnected.....(in case you were bored :-))

Good plan, Natasha. Connecting in England is not my strong point, but I have succeeded in linking Edwin Auckland to the existing profile of his maternal grandfather. I hope this will help.

ooh, yes, thank you. Now I can work on slowly building them all out knowing it will connect in both sides.
