Esslinger was spelling while in Germany, it appears that around the mid 1700's the spelling had changed to Eslinger.

This is a place to share information about the descendants and ancestors of Johann Casper Spar Eslinger b. 1500 d. 1563. His father is presumed to be Put Wolfgang Esslinger.

I have traced the Esslingers back to Aufhausen, Heidenheim, Duchy of W├╝rttemberg [later to become Baden-W├╝rttemberg, Germany). This includes the arrival of Johann Andreas Esslinger aboard the ship Patience in 1749.

Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.

  • Find more information on the Eslingers in the 1400 and 1500s
  • The migration of the Eslingers from Scotland to Germany
  • Confirm the connection with Henry Prince of Scotland and his ancestors

Within the years of 1540-1734 the Esslingers lived about 40 miles east of Stuttgart in approximately a 5-square mile area in the villages of Aufhausen, Schnaitheim, and Zang.
