There were a number of juries empanelled for the State trials in the Supreme court

From eurekapedia:

"For the jury there was a special panel of 180 men, who had a portion of the court reserved to them; and by the time one or two juries had been taken out of the mass the rest were pretty familiar with the evidence to come, and had quite made up their minds as to a verdict."[1]

THE BALLAARAT RIOTS.
The juries empannelled to try the prisoners for high treason were discharged, as some informality had occurred in the summoning of them fresh pannels are to be summoned to try these prisoners on the 15th of February inst.[2]
