Categories: Discontinued Challenges.
From November 2013 through January 2014, WikiTree kicked off the workweek each Monday with a profile that needed LOTS of help - genealogical, technical, or cosmetic...or any combination. (If you'd like to continue Extreme Monday Makeover, see the Note below.)
Don't forget to include your sources for any information added!
Let me know if you'd like to take over Extreme Monday Makeover. As of February 2014, it's been retired.
If you're looking for profiles in need, check out those still listed here as having been in the spotlight (I move them when they "graduate"). I selected profiles for the spotlight from the Maintenance Categories and also from the Orphaned profiles list. You can check those links out yourself for profiles in need. And Thanks for Helping!

Potential Areas of Help
Genealogical help, such as basic vital information (birth, marriage, death), sources for information, information on parents, spouse, and children.
Technical help, such as fixing dead links, adding categories, and proposing merges of duplicates (although those last two could arguably be genealogical help).
Cosmetic help, such as arranging the information in a more attractive manner.

About this Page
This page showcases profiles that need Wiki Genealogists to dive in with both hands and turn it from a meh (or an ack) to something that will make a descendant's heart skip a beat when discovered and worthy of being nominated to Profile of the Week.
Ideally, showcased profiles will have been orphaned or abandoned (no WikiTree activity by the profile manager for 6 months). However, if you would like to nominate any open profile for a makeover, add it to the last section. Before being presented for a makeover, a notice will be posted to the profile so that WikiTreers watching the profile or the surname can comment or take action other than a makeover. Profiles that aren't open cannot get a makeover.
Use the related G2G post for questions or discussion as needed, but mostly just edit the profile directly. Sources are essential, but speculation has its place too - just be sure to give your reasoning behind it. Leads can be helpful too, either in the profile or as bulletin board posts.
If one profile in need isn't enough, you can check out a whole lot of profiles needing help through the Maintenance Categories page. For profiles that just need a little sprucing up, check out Primp this Profile.
